{"id":246578,"date":"2016-07-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ionscience.com\/news\/enhancements-to-minipid-2\/"},"modified":"2016-07-05T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-07-04T23:00:00","slug":"enhancements-to-minipid-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ionscience.com\/in\/news\/enhancements-to-minipid-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Enhancements to MiniPID 2 sensor for exceptional lifetime performance!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>As part of our\u00a0on-going strategy to continue delivering the best performing PIDs (photoionisation detectors) in the industry, we\u00a0have introduced several ground-breaking enhancements to our recently launched\u00a0MiniPID 2\u00a0sensor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enhancements to MiniPID 2 &#8211; The most significant development is a new long-life 10.6 eV lamp that offers an unrivalled 10,000 hours continuous operation.\u00a0In addition, we have also incorporated an innovative self-diagnostic feature within the <a href=\"https:\/\/ionscience.com\/in\/sensors-and-components\/oem-sensors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MiniPID 2<\/a> that indicates whether the lamp is failing to illuminate or the electrode stack is contaminated.<\/p>\n<p>The new lamp offers the dual benefit of a proven 60% increase in life span and improved stability for more accurate measurement during long-term continuous monitoring applications. Other advantages include simplified spares ordering and reduced need for servicing. All our 10.6 eV and 10.0 eV PID instruments will have the new lamp fitted as standard, ensuring reliable, long-term performance underlined by a lifetime of over 10,000 hours continuous operation.<\/p>\n<p>MiniPID 2 offers a raft of benefits, including improved temperature stability, greater sensor-to-sensor consistency and more repeatable performance. It provides fast, accurate and humidity resistant detection of VOC (volatile organic compound) gases and is also interchangeable with the original MiniPID.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst the additional advantages offered by the new MiniPID 2 sensor are lower running current, robust lamp illumination and more reliable operation at extreme temperatures.
