It’s all about the people
It has been another busy year for the HR department with 12 new starters and an impressive 15 internal promotions in the past 12 months. These have been spread fairly evenly across all business functions, including production, engineering, service and marketing.
Our Managing Director, Duncan Johns, commented:
“Due to significant industry demand for our advanced gas detection instrumentation, it has been essential that we build capacity and increase headcount to ensure we maintain our market share on a global level. The quality and scope of new innovations in the business combined with major investments designed to facilitate future global growth and further strengthen service delivery have prompted Ion Science to implement a major recruitment drive and re-focus on the existing talent within the business.
“We pride ourselves on excellent staff retention rates and it is pleasing that high calibre candidates continue to be attracted to Ion Science, all of which helps contribute to the economic well-being of the area.”
The latest recruitment drive precedes our move into a new state-of-the-art facility next May. Representing a £4.5 million investment, construction of the purpose-built facility, which is located off Butts Lane in Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire, is well underway, with external walls completed and work about to start on the roof.
