Falco used to monitor VOCs in wastewater network
Masermic (technology-based company located in Mendaro, Spain) use an increasing number of Falcos to collect ambient air values in sanitation network.
Requirement
Masermic were subcontracted by Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council to continuously measure various parameters within wastewater; specifically pH, EC and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). These parameters are measured continuously and are recorded in the central computer by the data logger incorporated in their equipment. In addition, if any indicative alarm value is exceeded, the equipment takes a sample of the water surface to be analysed.
Using Falco VOC Detector
Previously, Masermic were using a competitor’s product. However, this kept picking up a very common gas found in the wastewater handling process, methane, and repeatedly gave false positives. The ION Science Falco Fixed PID detector will not detect methane due to its very high ionsiation energy (12.51 eV). This eliminates any false positives and prevents excess samples being taken and analysed. Download the full case study to find out more.
Falco continuously measures VOCs in wastewater network
”Masermic now use an increasing number of the ION Science Falco Fixed VOC detectors in the Vitoria-Gasteiz wastewater network to collect ambient air values in the sanitation network. All sensor equipment is attached to the upper part of the sanitation chest.
