Research Scientist

Short Description

An exciting opportunity has become available in a fast growing, well established gas detection company. The Research Scientist will be responsible for leading research activities into world class gas sensors, and sensor technologies. Taking ideas from theory into feasibility demonstrators and prototype devices. The role is suitable for someone with experience and relevant qualifications in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electronics or related discipline.

The Role

The Role will report to the Head of R&D and will involve the following:

• Research into Photoionisation Detectors to improve overall performance
• Definiition and coordination of research activities into Vacuum UV light sources and electrode arrangements for the detector.
• Test and characterisation of performance and reliability during research and development phases
• Knowledge transfer with existing experts and transfer of research into new product development
• Generation of Intellectual Property towards patents and relevant technical documentation
• Evaluation of emerging gas detection technologies and applications
• Evaluate suitability of our products for new applications
• Assissting in preparing white papers to demonstrate our technology
