States Works, a self-funding Trading Asset of the States of Guernsey providing municipal and maintenance services and employing a predominantly manual workforce, specialist vehicles, and equipment are using the Tiger LT portable PID to measure VOC levels being emitted from an odor control system at their waste transfer station.

The ION Science Tiger LT PID instrument is being used at three outlet ports on each of the transfer station’s odor control carbon filter vessels where it is monitoring VOCs being emitted at the quarter, half, and three-quarters depth of the carbon filter media. It enables States Works to estimate usage of the media so they can be replaced and ensure malodours are not being released into the environment.
