How to detect Acrylonitrile

Formula: C3H3N | CAS: 107-13-1

Synonyms: prop-2-enenitrile, acrylonitrile monomer, AN, cyanoethylene, propenenitrile, 2-propenenitrile, VCN, vinyl cyanide, vynilformic acid, cyanoethene, acrylnitrile, propenonitrile

Acrylonitrile is used in large quantities in the manufacture of a range of rubbers, plastics and resins, often with copolymers styrene or butadiene. It is also a precursor in the manufacture of acrylic acid and its polymeric derivatives and acrylics. Acrylonitrile is also used as a fumigant.
