We are delighted to reveal that work has commenced on our new ION Science building
The new ION Science building will be on site 1500 metres square, and will be an environmentally-friendly plant situated in Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire.
As you know, we were awarded planning permission last October for the facility which will provide more light assembly, research and office space. Built to the latest environmental standards, the investment will increase manufacturing capacity in line with our global growth strategy.
Construction workers have moved into the land located off Butts Lane with plant and machinery also beginning to arrive on site ready for clearance, ground stabilisation and excavation work.
Our Managing Director, Duncan Johns, comments: “After months of delays due to the lack of support from the planning committee of South Cambridgeshire District Council, or the local parish council, the real graft is at last beginning. It will be fantastic to get started and to see the results of our efforts rising up out of the ground.
“It really is a massive milestone in Ion Science’s 25-year history and for this exciting project. The state-of-the-art facility reflects our ambition as a business as we continue to innovate and provide our global customers with cost-effective and cutting-edge gas detection instrumentation.”
